Caller ID came up as Portfolio Recovery. One of their many phone numbers they uses.

This is a bill/credit collector. They are Recovery services, they call from multiple numbers.

209-676-3148 CALLER ID GIVES NAME ONLY AS "CALIFORNIA" John with Medic Alert Systems 7/20/2013 at 7:28pm CST 2ND CALL FROM SAME NUMBER AND CALLER THIS WEEK FIRST ONE WAS EITHER 7/17 OR 7/18 AROUND 6 PM CST. CLAIMED TO BE CALLING TO SET UP A TIME TO INSTALL THE MEDIC ALERT SYSTEM WE ORDERED. I TOLD HIM WE DIDN'T ORDER ONE. HE SAID. "OH, SOMEONE MUST HAVE ORDERED IT FOR YOU BECAUSE IT HAS ALREADY BEEN PAID FOR." I TOLD HIM WE DON'T WANT IT AND HE IGNORED ME AND FROM THEN ON CONTINUED TO TALK ABOUT THE SYSTEM. HE CONTINUALLY IGNORED ME AND TALKED OVER ME WHEN I ASKED HIM TO TAKE US OFF THEIR CALLING LIST. I CONTINUED TO TELL HIM NO AND FINALLY ***G UP. 2ND CALL HE S****ED OFf THE SAME WAY. I REMINDED HIM THAT WE DO NOT WANT IT, SAID GOODBYE AND ***G UP. UNSURE IF THE WHOLE THING WAS A RECORDING OR NOT BECAUSE THE FIRST TIME HE APPEARED TO ANSWER MY OBJECTION OF NOT HAVING ORDERED A SYSTEM.

I have TWC phone service and added this number to my selective call blocking, I hope that puts an end to it. Some phone services allow for blocking numbers like this, you may need to call your local carrier to have this done. If by chance you are getting a these calls on your cell phone and cannot get them stopped by your carrier try what i have done for other unwanted calls. Add the number to you contact list and set the ringer profile for the number to silent. That way at least you will not hear the phone ring when a call comes from this number.

The person repeatedly calling seems to be a scam-artist named "John" located in A****er,CA, located about two hours South-Southeast of the state capital of Sacramento. Since this scammer keeps on making his calls and disrespects we telephone customers on the Do Not Call list, I think it is just about time to contact the Sacramento FBI office; fbi.gov/sacramento/ A**** other reporting sites, the scammer's/spammer's calls have also been recently reported at callercenter.com/209-676-3148.html , whocallsme.com/Phone-Number.aspx/2096763148 , 800notes.com/Phone.aspx/1-209-676-3148 and whycall.me/209-676-3148.html .

they keep swit****g states. call cam from Carmel, NY, then from Michigan today from California. Robot calls to annoy people. I actually went as far as pressing one to get a person on the phone and demanded to be removed.......3 weeks ago. They are pathetic and so annoying. My phone kicks them out, yet it rings anyway. There should be a law a***nst these annoying telemarketers.

Calling multiple times a week and ignores me when I say please don't call a***n. We are also on do not call list. No one picks up when I return call. Says he wants to deliver a Life Alert System. We had that system 4 years ago for my ***her in law, who is now deceased. I have never had a telemarketer harass me like this guy!

CALLED TO TELL ME ABOUT THE FREE MEDICAL ALERT SYSTEM THEY WANTED TO SEND ME BECAUSE THEY SHOWED IN THEIR RECORDS THAT I HAD FALLEN. THE SHIPPING WAS FREE, TOO. ALL I HAD TO DO WAS PUSH #1 IF I ACCEPTED THE DEAL. HE HAD THE NERVE TO LEAVE THIS ON A MESSAGE ON MY PHONE!!! I HAVE A TELEMARKETERS BAN ON MY PHONES.

I told him I didn't order it he said some one must paid for it for me I said I'm 26 and do not need it and give it to some one who could use it and put me on ur dnc list and they called back today and it was blank call and u can't call them back or its always busy

He was calling from a local Houston number for months - now he's calling from CA. If you press 5 right away, he stops talking. He is NOT representing the national medical company he references in his pitch. I called the medical company and they are very frustrated because they don't know who he is. Enough already!

This is a total racket to scam Medicare/your insurance out of money by convincing you that someone has already paid for a a medical alert system and the call is to arrange delivery. Report them to the authorities immediately.

They call often and leave a long message (because I don't answer) about some medical alert system that is already paid for. The message ends with "press 1." I am going to try filing a complaint with the FCC.

John calls everyday on both our phones. Makes it sound like he is actually speaking when in reality it is a recording. Definitely an annoying scam. Wonder if he knows Rachel from Credit Card Services?

Harassing calls about wanting to deliver a medical device to my home. Many, many calls from them after I ***g up. There are laws a***nst this. This is harassment. Why isn't anyone enforcing them?
