He tried to spam another person so I was very cautious making sure my text was short and to the point. I think he figured out I was on to him. I did call and got no answer and mailbox was full.

All of the comments are accurate. “Hi, I saw your cat. He’s is with someone around _____ Rd. I’m a friend of her son and I was at their house when she brought him home.” They refused to give any specific information until they got “a reward for their kindness.” This is a sick cruel scammer.
