Spam. I called the number back w/ my number blocked and after it rang, I got a message that said, "If you'd like your number that was called to be placed on the Do Not Call List, press one." I did not press one, thinking it would go to a human, but it did not. That recording just kept repeating itself.

I called 866-246-7196 (thanks Dashiel) and spoke to someone, they said they provide this do not call request service to a small number of companies that want to minimize complaints and save time not calling people who don't want to be called. Sounded reasonable so I gave them the caller's phone number which they verified it was on their list and then I gave them the receiving phone number to add to the do not call list. It took a day and a half but the calls did stop.

At first I was getting calls from 201-243-3418,ignored the calls then they stopped. Now, 201-243-3416 is calling me! Well, enough is enough so I search both phone numbers and found a blog comment for a do not call request service at 866-246-7196. They provide this service to a small number of companies that call consumers and fortunately, these 2 phone numbers is on their list so she added my phone number to the do not call list.

At first my research came up short, at least I thought it did, but actually it ended up being helpful. It turned out the similar phone number with the last 4 digits was the same company calling me because the do not call service that another blog comment suggested worked for this phone number too. Just call 866-246-7196, give the calling phone number and the receiving phone number to be added to the do not call list.

I was offered lower interest rate on a credit card. The recording did not mention any bank name or what credit card was that supposed to be. It said: press 1 to be connected to the operator. I didn't. The phone call ended within five seconds of the end of the recording. It must be phish of biblical proportions.

Recv'd a call stated could get a better rate on my credit card, because I work for a financial ins***ution and issue the credit card that I use, I stayed on the line, finally got a person. (sounds very foreign), I advised not interested, very 'pushy'. When I asked for his ID, he ***g up.

Saw the number 201-243-3365 display on my cell phone and rejected the call. Wish there was a way to get back at these scammers, since my phone has been registered on the DO NOT CALL list. I don't have any credit cards and don't intend to get any either!

11:42 a.m. Pacific time, June 18. I don't recognize the number, turn the phone off. Telemarketers should be required to be identified as "telemarketer" on Caller ID. They should also have to pay 10 cents for every unsolicited call they make. Congress, are you listening???
