Impersonating a celebrity

scam

Received email from [email protected] stating I'd subscribed to Norton antivirus, with a note of "If you didn't initiate this purchase or this payment was not made by you, directly reach out to our customer support", with this number listed. OBVIOUS SCAM! DO NOT CALL THEM!

McAfee support is a different number. Why would McAfee e-mail invoice statements from an open, insecure and anonymizing webmail domain such as Gmail instead of their own secure domain? Phone number is to phish for credit card number.

This seemed like a fishing expedition to me. I received an email saying my Paypal account will be dinged 847.00 for some item.

Email urging to contact McAfee Protection about software order. Obvious SCAM. Came from gmail address.

W***ver this person is, has been calling and harassing me all day long today, so someone is behind this phone number, you mean to tell me that any one person can just harrass me ***** Nilly and ***ody can find this ****, i didn't sign up for no answers, I'd at least expect an email address or so****ing!

I agree with Rita. This is definitely some kind of phone phishing attempt. They called me also and said that they would be able to reduce my auto-insurance payment. When I asked how they got my phone number, the girl said that she dialed it by hand. When I asked for more details, she kept insisting that I answer her questions first (she didn't even know my name!). When I asked where she called from, she said it was National Insurance Foundation (a non-profit). When I pressed her to find out how she got my number, she said she knew it was a cell phone, and that she ONLY dials cell phones! When I pressed her with more questions, she ***g up.

Got a call on my cell from a woman asking me if I wanted to save on my car ins. I asked if she was calling from my ins. co (gave the name) and she asked me if I would switch ins. if she could save me money. I told her to never call my number a***n.

I have received numerous phone calls from this number within the last month. Its getting to point of harrassment. I have picked up and no one is there. I call back and all I get is a busy tone.
