NCO Financial, chasing debts and do not care if they are owed by your Ex. They will continue to call until you c****e your number.

Calls repe***ively from NCO Financial Services about a debt. Told to call this number, press option 2 and speak to Mrs Mills. I called just to get the calls to stop, but was left on hold for more than 5 minutes. ***g up.

They never say who they're calling for or where they are from. I know I don't have any debts turned over to collections so I'm pretty sure it's some sort of scam.

I received a call from Sharon Kay who was looking for my wife. When I told her my wife was not available she stated that it was urgent and left the 800 824-9392 number. She also left an extension number and a reference number for my wife to return her call. I'm not sure what's going on but if it's a supposed collection agency it's a scam. We owe nothing.

Caller ID BasicsTelemarketing organizations often s**** caller ID. In some instances, this is done to provide a "central number" for consumers to call back, such as an 800 number, rather than having consumers call back the outbound call center where the call actually originated. However, some telemarketers block or fraudulently s**** caller ID to prevent being traced. It is a***nst United States federal law for telemarketers to block or to send false caller ID. Individuals can bring civil suits and the FCC can fine companies or individuals that are illegally s****ing or blocking their caller ID.Some telemarketers have used caller ID itself for marketing, such as by using an 800 number and the text string "free money" or "free plane tickets" as the name to be displayed on the caller ID.In the United States, telemarketers are required to transmit caller ID. This requirement went into effect on January 29, 2004. Courts have ruled that caller ID is admissible. Providers are required by FCC rules to offer "per-call" blocking of caller ID to their customers. Legislation pending in the United States in 2007 would make it illegal to "s****" caller ID for fraudulent purposes.Caller ID is a simple string of data that can be read and generated very simply by small computer programs and even some inexpensive devices. Although the caller ID information is transmitted in between the first and second rings, before the phone call is connected, it is possible to mislead the phone company as to the origin of the call, thus defeating caller ID. Although misleading the phone company by generating ANI code or by other electronic means is very complex, simpler means do exist. Using services like Vonage or Skype, calling from a payphone, or using a calling card are easy means to fool caller ID.To look up the name****ociated with a phone number, the carrier in some instances has to access that information from a third party database and some database providers charge a small fee for each access to such databases. To avoid such charges, some carriers will report the name as unavailable, or will report the name as "(city), (state)" based on the phone number. For 800 numbers, they may report a string such as "tollfree number" if the name is not available in a database.Telecommunications regulators vary in their requirements for the use of****orted technologies to prevent numbers from being displayed. There is also varying treatment for equation of call display blocking with non-published numbers; in some areas, having a non-published number does not mean call display blocking will be automatic, so customers should inquire carefully to make sure their non-published number is not being displayed and if it is, what steps to take to block the number. In the United States, caller ID blocking does not actually prevent the transmission of the calling party number over the telephone network. Instead a special suppression indicator is passed along with the call. It is up to the last telephone switch (the one serving the call recipient) to refrain from passing the caller's number to the called party. Effectively, it is the responsibility of the telephone company serving the called party to enforce the caller ID blocking service.

Same as above. Called me several times, always a recording. I looked up their number and found several fraud references so decided not to call back.

Keeps calling and won't give out info, advised our number is new through Sprint - they wouldn't give any information - I have no bill collectors! They keep calling, said they collect for the government, armed services, which would not apply to me, I am 67 years old and female.

Scammers and scavengers. Will call on debts that have long been taken care of through any number of means and will persist, regardless of what is said to them.

I think I receive at least one call from 1-800-824-9392 a week. It is always a computer generated voice telling me that it is a collection agency and to contact Mrs. Mills immediately. I tried to call this number back, only to get told I needed to dial the extention of the person I wanted.....No chance to talk to an operator or real person, so I ***g up the phone. I would like for them to tell me if it was me they are after or my husband's ex-wife. I have had a couple calls for her before.

Caller is looking for a person that is no longer living at my address. I keep on telling caller that and stop calling my number. Call every day, sometimes 2 or three times.

Received a voice mail message from a raspy-voice female who stated, "please call this number for important buisness you need to handle through this office". She indicated her telephone call was not a telemarketing call and stated the 800 telephone number to call, but did not give her name or her organization's name. The woman did not indicate how much compensation she would pay me to call her, nor did she state my name during her voice mail message. Until we come to a mutually agreed compensation rate, I am not calling her back.
