Funny thing is, I recently pulled my credit report so I knew I had no debt. They also said that it was Rebecca at Credit Management. When I called back they asked for my SS# I refused to give it to her explaining that since I had the reference number that should be sufficient in pulling up my account. I explained that I know I have no debt because I check my credit on a regular basis and I have never used the number that was called for any people I have worked with. The woman stated that they send things to collections before they show up on your credit report. I told her that I have worked for a legitimate collections agency in the past and I know how it works. The woman said that I can wait for someone to call a***n and maybe by that time I'll be comfortable with giving out my information. I told the woman I'll take my chances and if it is truly a debt, they can send that to me in writing since they are required to by law anyway.
